CMS is proud to take a proactive approach with our local school district to engage with Junior High, High School, and Adult Education to further their understanding of the manufacturing careers in their own community.
We recently spearheaded Manufacturing Day in conjunction with the Morgan Hill Chamber of Commerce, and Morgan Hill Unified School District. We hosted a tour of approximately 60 high schoolers to give them an inside look as to how sheet metal and machined parts are built. The tour consisted of visiting various departments including engineering, punch and Laser, Quality Control, Forming, Machining, and Assembly. We ended the tour with a Q&A and pizza donated by our local Mountain Mikes Pizza.
We also hosted a tour covering the same areas with a group of about 40 Jr High kids from the Silicon Valley Tech Academy. We look forward to continuing to broaden the mindset of our youth to encourage careers with an alternative option to college.
